Andrew Goode, Resident Director
Hello, my name is Andrew Goode, and I am this year’s Resident Director. I was previously an Assistant Resident Director for this program during the summer of 2023 and an RA in 2021, so this will be my third year working at GSSE. I am graduating Spring 2024 from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I am currently majoring in Biology and have a minor in Chemistry. I plan to attend medical school after completing my undergraduate degree since I aspire to become a physician. A few things that I am currently involved in include research that focuses on studying essential genes in an oral tooth decay pathogen and being the President of the Honors College Association at my school. On top of this, I foster many hobbies, such as fishing as well as bodybuilding/ fitness. I am incredibly excited about GSSE this upcoming year and look forward to learning all the new faces!
Katerina Scott, Assistant Resident Director
Hello everyone, I am Katerina Scott! As your Assistant Resident Director, I am so excited about this year’s GSSE program. I recently graduated from The University of Tennessee with a major in Geology and Environmental Studies and minors in Elementary Education and Sustainability. My goal is to complete my Master’s in Elementary Education and become an elementary teacher specializing in science education and outreach. I was involved in UT Housing for five years during undergrad and served as a Resident Assistant on campus for two years. I also had a wonderful experience as an RA for GSSE in 2022 and 2023. I love the outdoors, my cats, and my fish. I can’t wait to meet everyone in the program this summer!
Blythe Clippinger, Resident Assistant
Hey y’all! My name is Blythe Clippinger! I am from Nashville, TN and will be starting my senior year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville studying Speech Pathology and Audiology in the fall. This will be my second summer as an RA with GSSE and I could not be more excited! In my free time you can find me at the pool, gym, or laying in the sun somewhere on campus! (usually with a book 🙂 I can’t wait to meet everyone and have so much fun this summer!!

Bryse Vrolijk, Resident Assistant
Hey everyone!!! My name is Bryse Vrolijk! I’m from Hinton, Virginia and finishing up my senior year at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I majored in Food and Agriculture Business, but will be at Tennessee for two more years in the College Student Personnel graduate program. This will be my second summer as an RA with GSSE and can’t wait to make so many more amazing memories! In my free time I love traveling and spending time outside. Super excited for this summer and can’t wait to get it rollin!!

Abbie Buckner, Resident Assistant
Hello, my name is Abbie Buckner and I have been given the opportunity to be an RA for this year’s students. This is my first year working for GSSE. I am a physics major with an environmental studies minor. I also have the intentions of going to graduate school for engineering. I am wanting to pursue a career in civil engineering. I go to The University of The South located in Sewanee, Tennessee. I am a student athlete and I play softball for Sewanee. On campus I am currently involved in Cru, a religious group, along with being a member of the volleyball club. In my free time I enjoy working out, painting, and being outside. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Keri Schlupp, Resident Assistant
Hi y’all! My name is Keri Schlupp and I will be starting my senior year studying political science here at UT. I am from a small town outside of Philly, PA but live full-time in TN along with my 2 horses. I am currently serving as a Resident Assistant on campus and this will be my first year as a GSSE RA. Additionally, I am a cadet in UT’s Air Force ROTC program and will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant next spring! In my spare time you can catch me at the gym, on a run, at the barn with my horses, or reading a book. I am extremely excited about this year’s program and look forward to meeting everyone! x
Jerald Arden Freeman, Resident Assistant
Hello everyone! My name is Jerald Arden Freeman, and I am from Chattanooga, TN. This will be my first time as an RA for GSSE, so I am looking forward to this year’s program. I’ll be starting my sophomore year at Vanderbilt University in the Fall, studying Engineering Science with a double minor in Digital Fabrication and Engineering Management. I am currently a member of the VU FSAE Motorsports team and am involved in various student organizations such as PISO, a Filipino cultural group. In my spare time on campus, I participate in intramural sports, cruise on my bike, and lift at the rec center. I can’t wait to see what this summer has to offer. See you guys soon! x

Hey y’all! My name is Amie Barham, and I am from Mount Juliet, Tennessee. I am studying Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Mechanical Engineering, and I will be starting my junior year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the fall. This is my first year as an RA at GSSE, but I attended as a student in 2021! On campus, I am super involved with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM). During my free time you can find me baking or hanging around the BCM with friends. I made so many wonderful memories during my time at GSSE, and I cannot wait to make more this summer!

Hey y’all! My name is Jackson Lain, and I’m from Nashville, Tennessee. I am heading into my sophomore year studying Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee. This is my first year as an RA for GSSE, and I’m so excited to be a part of the program. I am involved in CSUTK, a Christian ministry on campus. I love basketball, being outside, and spending time with friends. I can’t wait for this summer!

Hey guys! My name is Ian Weber and I’m from Nolensville, TN. I’m headed into my third year at UTK majoring in Aerospace Engineering. This is my first year serving as an RA in the GSSE program and I look forward to getting to know everyone. I like helping people in my community by tutoring, helping out at local food banks, and organizing social events to help bring people together. Hello beautiful people!! My name is Jinny Joo, and I will be starting my sophomore year at Colby College as a Biology major on the pre-med track! I had previously attended GSSE in 2021, but this will be my first year becoming an RA this summer! On campus, I am involved with the club swim team and work as a student athletic trainer. I enjoy spending most of my time hanging out with my friends or listening to music! I am so excited to meet every single one of you this summer!
